I was playing with another friend yesterday at his place since I was in the neigborhood. Umbran Clock Tower was the one stage we played for a while since I haven't gotten the characters. (I gave my Wii U away for a week or so to another friend for a little event for the class she teaches. Probably get it back Saturday).

Its a very fun stage and it has a lot of interesting qualities

+ The platforms that go up automatically drop you so you can't ceiling walk off.

+ The Blast Zone's seem fair.

+ No stage hazards (Presentation only)

On the other side of things, there are some aspects that would prove ban worthy

- Side platforms are walk offs

- One goes underneath the main stage making easy to camp. Especially with characters like Wario(Bike heal) , WFT(charge/heal), Cloud(charge), Samus(charge) and Pikachu (Thunder[assumably]).

- The platform pattern changes randomly

+/- The formations range in quality

I remember it was debated when the stage first was seen, but many hesitated because of the uncertainty of stage hazards. Now that its out, ban/safe voices are a lot less resounding.

I think there may be differing opinions on my pros and cons, and more than that I've only played it for a bit so I don't really have that strong of a hold and the stage. Personally, I would really like this to be a stage for tournaments. I think the walk off were something more consistent it would be more likely banned. It also adds a lot more variety to the select stages currently used. I think it needs more testing and I hope at the very least the Smash community does test in some low risk tournaments or something.

What are your thoughts?

EDIT: Thanks for putting it in the Nintendo Disccussion.
