I see some of the comments about the post count of some of the new mods and I'm reminded of an expression.

"If you're talking, you're not listening.  If you're not listening, you're not learning anything."

Somebody who is posting in massive volumes isn't necessarily the person we want.  Sometimes it might be.  Sometimes there's something else missing.  There is no tracking of the number of  posts read.  People could be engaged in the community in a number of ways.

Furthermore, forum post activity does not equate to moderator activity.  There have been light forum posters who became very active moderators.  There have been heavy forum posters who did very little as mods.   Forum activity has not historically been a great predictor of moderator activity.

Which brings me to my next point...

In the opening post, I spoke of a new era of accountability.  It starts now.  If those of you who are measuring these new moderators based on post count are correct, then some of these choices will be inactive mods.  I have confidence in all of them.  But if it happens, we will not accept a lack of activity, among the new mods or among the pre-existing team.  If moderators are inactive, we will move quickly to fix the issue.  In the past, it went on for several months.  You saw it.  I saw it. Sometimes they weren't even logging into the site.  That will not happen.  The era of the "Moderator In Name Only" is over.  That is our commitment to you.
