Considering these games are Nintendo's and Nintendo presents them seperately, I'd say that's the way they want us to organize and compare them. 

So because they do it like that.... We have to? No. We aren't limited to only categorizing it like that. 

 

All in all it really doesn't matter how we do it. People will do it the way they want to, and you need to accept that and not try to change how they do it.
