You know with all bad mouthing Nintendo gets these days sales are pretty decent. WiiU is an excellent system that third parties couldn't bend a little for it, sad actually |
And why should any 3rd party bend for them if they had more profit chances were they already were and Nintendo haven't done much to bring them aboard?

Can you explain to me why you want 3 systems very similar? |
Because it's the games that matter and not the HW?? Haven't we heard forever that gameplay matters and graphics are a non-issue? So why should a differentiation on HW be important? So far it only have been detrimental.

Not really... Sony as a whole company in several years had lower profits and a lot more debts than Nintendo and still were able to R&D strong HW and on PS4/X1 both Sony and MS were able to develop system with good pricetags without taking a big hit on their finances. Sony have started to have profit from HW+1 game and PSN+ under 6 months of launch so it isn't a matter of losing money on HW that prevented Nintendo from doing a better HW.
Maybe they decided that since Wii costed very little to make, had weak HW and still sold very well they could repeat it and pick a lot of profits again.
