Coming from a Wii/360 owner who played GTA4, the mini games were absolute shit in GTA 4, especially, especially darts, and especially pool.

That's why I never took any of my 'friends' on anywhere or did anything with them. They call you, and you can just hang up right away and get back to getting your missions done. And if you take taxis everywhere, you don't have to drive as much either.

Not many people who have played a lot of games this generation will argue that GTA 4 deserves a 10/10. I have many friends who own the game, and everyone thinks somewhere between 6/10 and 8/10. Although most of them seem to still like the multiplayer quite a bit.

I was disappointed by how stupidly easy the darts game was.  Haven't played pool yet in GTAIV.  Bowling is much better, but the bowling in Wii Sports is ten times better even with the too-light ball in that game.  (And no way to adjust the weight.) 

Your friends who want to give it 6/10 are being way too harsh, but then again I wouldn't call their opinions any more skewed than those of those who think it's the greatest game ever made thus far.
