Exactly, that's why I think it's a false rumor. I think Pikmin 4 will be revealed at E3 2016.

Pikmin 4 might be a Wii U game but it' far from a safe bet at all even if Miyamoto had said that the game was for it since in E3'08 Nintendo said that Pikmin 3 was a Wii game and the game ended up releasing 5 years and on a different system.
