Prediction: If NX does very well, Splatoon 2 will sell 10 million+.

Anything less than 55 million NXs I think would have to be a pretty huge disappointment seeing as how even the 3DS + Wii U will be in the 85 million range combined.

 

Such a huge failure of math.

Most 3ds users also owned the Wii U and many also bought multiple 'special edition' 3ds's....massive inflation of numbers there. You can't just combine numbers of separate products lol. 

 

Even so, dropping from 85 million to say 30 million is a bit much. Never say never, but Nintendo would seriously have to blow basically every aspect of the NX I think for it to end up that low. And I'm one of the more pessimistic people on this board, lol. 

But how can the NX be more powerful than the PS4 and not be ungodly expensive. Either than or its just a moderately more powerful Wii u. Anyway it won't attract many third party developers or hardcore gamers. 

So say that all ~12 million diehard Nintendo fans buy the NX...then what do tens of millions of people who haven't bought any Nintendo products in years go out buy the NX for no reason?
