Crazy people will be crazy regardless. Religion at worst is a scapegoat and if it didn't exist it wouldn't stop crazy people from being crazy. Crazy people will always find a reason to be crazy.

It takes religion to make a moral person do something immoral.

Or vice versa. The choice is on the person.

What is the vice versa scenario?

It takes religion(or politics or any other "view") to make a immoral person do something moral. You can flip those two words, the choice is on the person. There have been countless crimes being done in the name of religion just like in many other things, even freedom. Take feminists for example. Are we going to condemn the entire movement just because, recently, there have been a few extremists?

I get your point. In a way ideology can be a lot like religion.
