When in the last 30 years has a console released with 8, 1st party games? There hasn't been one because it is unwise to release that many 1st party games at once. It makes infinitely more sense to elease 2 on launch day in November with 1-2 more in December then spread out about a dozen or so throughout the following year.

 

Without 3rd party support, just four 1st party games is horrible in a launch year or any year. If nintendo does that with NX.... As I mentioned earlier, NX needs to get consumers' interest. 

 

Sorry to get into your conversation, but.. I think 4 games are already enough too. After all, it won't have 0 third party games at launch, it will probably have a decent amount as even the Wii U had. Third parties tend to invest a bit on new hardware at launch to see if it pays off.

Take this launch line up for example: Zelda port, Mario 3D, Pikmin 4 and Smash 4 port (putting this here cause of the strong rumor). Plus, a decent third party support, I think this would get consumers' interest. That is, if the marketing is good, and of course... the concept of the console iselft.

 

I guess we'll see. More 1st party games for the first year wouldn't hurt, though.
