Well, the original naruto is actually really good (chunin exam arc is amazing), it's shippuden where it kinda gets lame. Back in the original,  battles were won by strategies, later in shippuden it basically becomes a fight of who has more raw power.

 

Yes I love that ARC!!!!!!! As for Shippuden, I stopped watching after the arc where Sai and that Wooden jutsu guy joined. I don't think i'll be going back to it anytime soon.........
