People easily forget that they are mainly a figurine but they added some extra things to give them more value to gamers.
I don't have any amiibo from the Zelda franchise and I'm not buying any anytime soon and I don't feel as if I'm loosing anything special if I don't have them.
The problem with amiibo is that they are criticized if they have extra functions in games and they are criticized if they don't :S
