I guess it could work like this ....

Home receiver + controller = $79.99 US. You buy games for the standard $39.99-$59.99 and you "own" them, you just need to make sure you have a good enough internet connection. If you ever upgrade to the "full NX" console, you have the option of downloading your purchased game. There's an option for an ala carte streaming service where Nintendo cherry picks a certain amount of VC, Wii/Wii U, and NX content you can get for $8.99/month if you want that.

It would be crazy if they partnererd with Netflix ... ie: For an extra $5-$8/month you get access to Nintendo VC games, Wii/Wii U games, and some NX games and demos.

Wouldn't that make it quite likely Nintendo would lose money? Buy a game and download it and Nintendo's servers only need to process that download once, or a few more times if you redownload. But stream and they not only need better servers but they need to have them in near constant use for people all over the world. Unlimited streaming for a one off payment just doesn't sound like a viable business strategy to me.

I think they could make money. People who buy more games would likely play more, so say they have 4-5 games, that's like $300 to Nintendo, that would be equivalent to a streaming service for a while. Or they could have the base $5/month package say which gets you VC/Wii-Wii U games/a few NX titles, then you are free to purchase any game if you want for the full price on top of that (ie: Mario Kart 9 is not part of the $5/month service, so if you want that specific game you have to buy it). The $5/month pays off their server fees.
