The stupidity around amiibo is only growing more and more and more. Now some optional extra arrows/hearts once a day on a single player game is something to complain about it. Borderline pathetic.

So it's okay if nintendo charges for gameplay boosts but it's not okay when other companies do it? This was a huge complaint about last gen. The "pay $1 for more health" or "pay $2 for more arrows" is suddenly okay when disguised by amiibo?

Ona single player game??WTF? Who the hell cares if I have extra arrows on my single player experience?

And no, is not "pay 1$ for hearts", if you have an amiibo, thenyou can use it as many times as you want, and that amiibo not only is a high quality figure for a very reasonable price but also is compatible with other 20 games, so no, is not even close to that.

It's one single player game now but seeing how amiibo crazy nintendo is, it will be worse in the future.

Likewise, the reusability of amiibo is very very restricted. Have a captain falcon amiibo, now buy a different one for Splatoon, now a different one for fire emblem, now a different one for yarn yoshi, now a different one for starfox, so on and so forth. You'd be lucky to get 3 compatible games for one amiibo, not 20 games compatibility

Given the amount of amiibo and the diversity in IP in amiibo, it's not a buy once you're done, it's usually buy for each game (which is basically paid DLC for each game).

Some people don't care about the figure, they care about the gameplay, and the idea of locking "boosts" and content behind amiibo is no better than locking them behind paid dlc (something most people dislike).

Captain Falco amiibo is compatible with 11 games, with more coming, and is not even one of the most popular characters of Nintendo. Enough said.
