Nintendo's board of directors are just too old and out of touch too ... they've actually become more regressive as a company from the 90s. In the 90s they were more in touch with the Western market thanks to a strong NOA with Minoru Arakawa and Howard Lincoln.

Today, they don't even have that.

The market has changed too much and they haven't changed with it, they've actually kinda gone into a bubble back into the 1980s.

They still make great games though. The company's management has let it down though and I think even that would've been OK, but this smartphone/tablet rise especially with kids has really stabbed Nintendo in the heart, without the security of a large portable market, their whole business model from the last 20 years kinda falls apart.
