One of the most fundamental hallmarks of Metroid is it's atmosphere. An atmosphere of isolation, dread, foreboding. A dark tone, as seen in the original, Super Metroid, and the Prime trilogy, is condusive to this. Cheesy anime melodrama and Chibi soccer is not.
