Grimgar ep. 2

How many people does it take to kill 1 goblin wouldn't be out of place as the beginning of a bad joke but its very much the focus In this episode. I'm not sure if I'm finding the fact they're so weak refreshing or frustrating, will have to keep watching to find that out. It is nice to see the psychological impact it seemed to have on Ranta, really makes me wonder what's gonna happen if they have to kill a human. Also we got a little hint that Yume might see Shihuro as more than just a friend, her reaction when she was getting the male attention was telling, Shihuro looks damn cute with her new hair clip.

Really find Ranta annoying tho, don't see that changing and fan service is great and all, great Yume shot, but lets not go down that route with this anime.

The fan service was only a single shot for a few seconds, so I can't say it is detracting from the serious nature of the anime yet. That aside, I find their weakness somewhat refreshing. All too often in shows like this it's just "oh, I had to kill something...how mildly inconvenient". Or you simply have one overpowered person who asserts their dominance over the rest and overrides any potential good themes in the show by making it a classic case of OP character.

That said, remember your spoiler tags. If I had really read your post before watching the episode a bit ago, I would have been spoiled of basically everything that happened in the episode. Granted, the impact of the actual killing still would have been there, but not as significant when it's still a surprise moment over knowing who is going to make the kill and thus when. That aside, I do have high hopes still. This is looking like an anime very capable of providing a dramatic, all too realistic look on what it would truly be like to exist in the type of world we see in games.
