Nope, Zelda's haven't been great games in 2000's anymore. The thing is, that it's the "Zelda cycle": upcoming Zelda game is hyped until it's release. Once it's out, fans are dissappointed. Next Zelda game is announced, people hype the until it's out. People are dissappointed.
Every time a new Zelda is out, it's the greatest Zelda according to those who's first Zelda game it is - and it stays one, as the quality of the games just keep getting worse. It reminds me of those earlier Zelda's, because they all have been "OMG THE MOST AWESOME ZELDA EVER, WITH BETTER GRAPHICS AND LARGER WORLD". The only thing Aonuma does, is to fix issues the previous installment had, but he completely misses the problem the games have.
