I think they are aiming for November 2016. Whether they make it who knows because Nintendo is a company that would be late to their own funeral.
It's kind of a lose-lose proposition either way though.
Some people on this board spin this narrative that what's going to happen is NX even if it is for 2017 ... that this somehow means the Wii U as a result suddenly is going to get all these wonderful, cool new games in the interim like a Metroid game or a "real" Animal Crossing or a new 3D Mario.

Those games are for the next Nintendo portable, whatever it is (NX or not).
All you're going to get is another year or two or low budget spin-off titles made by outsourced teams, a good chunk of crap like Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis and HD no effort remakes like Zelda: TP HD.
We've seen this movie before with the Wii's final 18 months and the GameCube's pathetic last 12 months (hope you like Odama and Baten Kaitos cuz that's all you got before getting kicked in the balls if you were waiting for Zelda).
For me I'd just as well rather not suffer through that. 3DS has to be replaced this year IMO, it does not have another year left in the tank and whatever it's successor is has to be priority no.1 and no.2 for Nintendo. It's more important than the NX even, if it isn't the NX outright.
