I played a lot of it when visiting a friend. The game takes some very interesting choices gameplay, characterization and story wise. You are defintely not gonna understand people's hype about the game.
With that said, its ok if you play through it and end up not enjoying nearly as much as the majority or even disliking it. I wouldn't let that bother you too much. It might ruin your experience a bit whether you end up liking the game or not.
I thought it was prettty good. Not as great as how I think people are saying, but I can understand why they have that opinion
