I mean that's cool and all, but I doubt this "sponsor" actually does anything other than Splatoon ads, a retweet, and not getting shut down. This was the case in TBH5, Apex, and Evo, and I doubt this will change for this event.

Call me ungrateful, but I'd much rather want Nintendo out of this and have PM back; it is the main reason why PM cannot grow due to Nintendo's interference and ludicrous policies.

Maybe, but better than the alternative (Nintendo shutting it down). All steps in the right direction.

Maybe, but I'm tired of seeing all this praise when Nintendo could do so much better. It's like they're trying to take advantage of Smash instead of actually helping Smash. Are they trying to contribute pot bonuses? Advertise the tournament better? Trying to emulate it like Capcom 2015 SF tournament? Help fund the tournament without a need of a Genesis 3 compendium? Hell, even help it to even a close degree to their Million-Dollar Splatoon Nintendo-sponsored tournament? Answer: No to all of them. This is still really pathetic "support," and Nintendo does not deserve praise in this case.
