Unless the hardware releases with no games at all. The console needs to wait until 2017.

The developers need more time to get familiarized with the system. Specially if Nintendo decides not to go with the same architecture as the XB1 and PS4.

Nintendo will jeopardize the entire gen if they decide to push third parties away once again.

 

It won't matter much what 3rd parties' concerns are either way; Nintendo haven't relied on 3rd parties for over two decades to sell their hardware and this isn't about to change. Waiting for 2017 or launching in 2016 makes near as no difference as far long term support goes and it seems unlikely that Nintendo are aiming to capture titles from the typical AAA publishers anyway; this hasn't really been a major part of their strategy since the SNES.
