Yes, but I also realize that under Yamauchi, Nintendo created their best software. There is NO disputing which era churned out their best games and that was 1985 to 2000.

I'm confident that I would win a poll though. If we could poll these forums and ask the question of "vote for the best home console version of each Nintendo IP", I'm sure the majority would vote for games dating before 2000.
Best 2D Mario would be SMB3 or SMW. Best Zelda would be OOT. Best Metroid would be Super Metroid.Best SSB would be Melee. Best DKC would be DKC 2. Best Star Fox would be Star Fox 64. The only title that would have a chance would be Galaxy over Super Mario 64 and even that would probably be close.
