The financial suicide will be releasing another gimped device like the 3DS, and the same can be said about the Wii U.

 

Wii U was not really that gimped when it comes to visuals. I would be happy with PS4 visuals. It was gimped by yet another hard to develop for system and Nintendos business strategies that they learned in preschool.

 

3DS has done well. But struggled and still struggles due to lack of games and advertising those games in the West.

 

If your system can't competently run modern third party games at reasonable equity with other consoles of the day -- then it's gimped. 

Imagine the Super NES couldn't run games like Street Fighter 2 or Final Fantasy VI because the chipset was just a moderate upgrade on the NES.
