Let me just add to my last post because I think it warrants adding on to ... George Lucas post-Star Wars is the same guy that - Thought Howard the Duck was a great idea. - Thought an Indiana Jones movie with aliens was a great idea. Even though Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg did not like the idea, he forced them into it. - Thought making Natalie Portman into a Christmas tree with the voice a male bodybuilder was a good idea for Episode I. - Thought having Han shoot first and inserting that horribly bad CGI dance number in the Jedi was a great idea. - Thought Jar Jar was the central component to Episode I. Thought that would make audiences laugh. - Thought making Mace Windu the dullest character in the universe was a good idea. - Thought having Darth Maul have few lines was a good idea. In fact we know he actually CUT lines from Darth Maul from what was in the shooting script. - Thought Anakin's "romantic lines" in Episode II would make women swoon. Lets be honest. Lucas lost his shit a long time ago. Probably after his divorce ... dude was never the same after that, it devastated him so much so that he couldn't direct for another 16 years. What does it tell you when Kathleen Kennedy (producer of some of the most successful films of ALL time) was willing to delay a new Star Wars by several months and push the release date of the film into WINTER, by throwing out Lucas ideas and going with someone else instead? JJ Abrams is certainly not perfect, but did it occur to some of you that Lucas' ideas for this sequel trilogy may very well have been *shit*? Because he has a track record of *shit* decisions since the 1980s ended. The only difference is now, someone finally called him out on his shit, by throwing out his Episode VII treatment and going in a different direction. Episode VII was *always* going to be burdened by having to follow up the shit prequels and all of the damage Lucas did to his brand, that's why it had to be an homage to the OT and re-center the franchise by bringing it back to what made it popular in the first place ... which contrary to popular belief wasn't lightsaber fights.

I wont trust Abrams on anything after what he did to LOST. It began good and ended incredibly shitty. But he isnt calling the shot here.
I am affraid Disney is going to Marvel's Star Wars with one average movie per year. Look at all these garbage movies with super heroes.... The batman trilogy of Nolan is great, the Disney flood is bad.
I hope Disney doesnt milk it too much.

Abrams had nothing to do with LOST outside of the initial concept/pilot. You do realize that don't you?
Any young, competent director is better than Lucas of today. Abrams, Rian Johnson, even the Jurassic World guy.
Lucas lost his shit a loooooong time ago.
Disney paid $4 billion for this thing, they will do whatever the hell they want with it, but that's a separate issue. It does say something though does it not when money-grubbing Disney was willing to delay the movie by several months and miss out on the lucrative summer movie season just to NOT use George Lucas' ideas.
Episode VII could have been out last summer if they used Lucas' treatment, rather than going in a different direction. Speaks volumes that they were willing to probably lose some money just to get away from Lucas' ideas.
