I think Japan did have an option for a 3 stage rotation at one point. I wouldn't mind that.
That said, I honestly don't mind the setup because it forces you to maybe to play tracks you wouldn't otherwise and then eventually you start to learn the little nooks and crannys of each stage.
It also keeps the game fresh because you don't know what you'll be playing every time you log in.
I know people complain about Splatoon's limitations, but in a way, I can't help but wonder if they are contributing to its success.
If they let you choose your maps and had voice chat, I think in some ways the game would lose a lot of its charm.
