I never understood really the big appeal in seeing something *completely* different in a sequel. If you want to see a new movie, then *gasp* maybe go see a different movie?
TFA and Jurassic World are shattering box office records because they are loving call backs to the original movies of those franchises which people really loved. They give you the same feeling.
I don't want to see a Rocky movie where he becomes a .... gymnast. I don't want to see a Star Wars film where the characters are bland/boring and have no banter/sizzle in their relationships like the prequels or overdone CGI characters that aren't funny.
