It has nothing to do with nostalgia. Many consider Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back to be the two best Sci-fi movies of all time. This movie couldn't compare with either of those two in any way except for special effects. Even the lightsaber duel was was badly choreographed and clunky. It looked like two kids playing with toy lightsabers.
