@Viper1,
one question, what`s wrong with this comparison:
http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php?cons1=PS2®1=All&cons2=PS3®2=All&cons3=X360®3=------&weeks=85
and why it`s =/= ?

I'll show you what is wrong with that comparison.  Instead of just PS2 and PS3, I'll add in the Wii.  I also extended out the graph a few more weeks.

http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php?cons1=PS2&reg1=All&cons2=PS3&reg2=All&cons3=Wii&reg3=All&weeks=114

At around week 95, the PS2 takes off.  That increase is much larger than the increase for PS3 during the holidays.  The PS3 has no chance of keeping pace.  There has never been, and never will be any game that can increase the PS3's sales by more than the last holiday season did for the PS3.

The Wii is also leading the PS2 by quite a large margin at this point in the graph.  By your way of analysis, the Wii should dominate the PS2.  But, this will not continue.  When the Wii reaches week 95, the PS2 will make up a lot of ground.
