He can't use the Silent Hills name now of course, but I hope he pursues the horror genre.
Whatever it is, I imagine he has quite a few ideas already, and work would have started in some capacity.
So unless there are serious development problems, the game should make this gen, and hopefully we will get a reveal in 2017.
