The Wii U is a good system why arent we buying it, arent european ussually gimped over a lot of stuff when it comes to videogames?

Probably because the PS4 and Xbox One and PCs are seen as better systems with more diverse libraries. ;)

But I've done my part: bought the Wii U (as well as any other Nintendo home + handheld system since N64 + GBC) and all the games that interest me.

Europe is not that Nintendo-friendly. Before the PS1, Europe gaming usually focused on PCs.

And also, Europe has never been very supporting to Nintendo. Even on Snes era, Sega was actually more popular in a lot of countries.

That's the result of Nintendo (and SEGA, too) not being that Europe-friendly in the first place in the '80s and '90s.  Why is PC stronger in Europe than in other regions? Perhaps because Europe was always an afterthought for the console industry.

  • NES launch Europe: 38 months after Japan, 9 months after US
  • Gameboy launch Europe: 17 months after Japan, 14 months after US
  • SNES launch Europe: 17 months after Japan, 8 months after US
  • SNES launch Germany: 21 months after Japan, 12 months after US
  • Nintendo 64: 9 months after Japan, 6 months after US
  • Nintendo 64 launched 17 months after the PS1 in Europe... a much larger gap than in the other regions.
  • Gameboy Advance: only 3 months after Japan, same month as in US... thumbs up!
  • GameCube: 8 months after Japan, 6 months after US
