10. Magi
A really good anime with a strong story. It shows you the corrupt nature of man and how it has affected the world. The animation is fluid as well which means top notch fights. Pretty dark for a shounen too which is always welcomed.
9. Hellsing Ultimate
Incredible action scenes and characters. Really gory but I don't mind. Has a decent story too.
8. Suisei no Gargantia
A really good watch. Animation and art are really pretty especially in HD. Powerful story too. Seems sort of bland at first until the second half when everything starts to fall into place. The mech fights are really fast and top notch as well.
7. Madoka Magica
The real meaning to "wolf in sheep clothing". Don't let the little magic girl appearance fool you. This anime is pretty dark and gripping. The story is well done as well.
6. Bokurano
Similar to Madoka in initial appearance. Another dark anime. Shows you the human side to anime characters most writers try to shy away form. The Kaiju-like battles are nice as well.
5. Death Note
A classic, loved by everyone and their mother. And for a good reason too. The pacing and strategy are really well done and boils down to a satisfying conclusion.
4. Code Geass
Similar mind games to Death Note, except with mechs. Has an amazing story and characters. Fights are also well done and energetic.
3. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
An excellent anime and does what all anime should. It follows the manga scene for scene and word for word. A little dark at times too which I happen to like. Amazing fights and animation are present as well. A must watch.
2. Steins;Gate
A masterpiece. One of the most well written stories around. And pokes at your brain with time travel. I can't say too much without spoiling but it's a definite must-watch for any anime fan.
1. Hunter x Hunter (2011)
Pretty much flawless in my eyes. It's the embodiment of everything I want in an anime. Fluid animations for it's masterful fights and a really good story to go along with it. And it's either one or the other with most shounen, good fights or good story. HxH has both. Some of the best characters in anime as well. It's also pretty serious about sticking to the manga like FMA:B. It's dark and doesn't shy away from certain things unlike most shounen. To think I never expected much of this when I just started watching it, no soon after that was I hooked.
