The problem is that people is in denial that Amiibo figurines are DLC.

Well, Nintendo could use some form of digital amiibo. With that digimiibo costing just 2-4€ and being tied to your MyNintendo account.  They could implement it somehow.

That's a waste. If you're gonna do that. Just sell the DLC unlocks.

If you sell them as regular DLC, they would work on only one game, where as digimiibo you could use in multiple games, which is the purpose of Amiibo.
