Actually the whole internet can be wrong. Not saying it is, but people aren't exactly a reliable indicator on measurable things. They jump so quickly to conlusions, even incorrectly. For all I know, Pachter could be either a genius or a madman, but people's opinions about him and some of his predictions are almost worthless in determining which one he's closer to. And yes, I know he has made quite a few bold, almost crazy predictions that turned out wrong. But obviously he doesn't suck at his job since he's been able to keep it for so long, so I'd take that as a sign that he may not be as bad as people say.
