Lol, you sound like you're contradicting yourself. You downplaying this guys thread because you didn't find it as valuable to what your standards are, you can LITERALLY say that for every every opinion thread. Your Wind Up Bird Chronicle thing, someone can easily say that his opinion is not needed because whatever he wrote is not valuable to his standards, that's literally how opinions work.

You sound like you don't know what contradicting means. And your understanding of how opinions work may be fuzzy as well.
Opinions can be interesting or uninteresting, and can provide information, or not provide much information. The opinion of the Wind Up Bird Chronicle (a great book) contains a good deal of information, and can lead to interesting conversations. The opinion I like Skittles does not. This is not my subjective opinion as the amount of information in each of those opinions is quantifiable. If we had the time and inclination, we could absolutely come up with an accurate figure to convey how much information is contained within each of those.
To further the objective of promoting interesting topics, most communites have rules. It's why we lock certain topics, and don't lock others. It's why we frown on posts that say "So and so game sucks" and encourage posts that say "element x of a game is flawed because..."
If I made a topic titled "I like Hot dogs", then made a topic that said "Green is my favorite color", then made a topic that says "My Cat's breath smells bad", would you consider this a worthwhile addition to the site? If I was banned for this (which I should be) would you rush to my defense saying, "These opinions are equally interesting and worthwhile as any other?" I would hope not.
In the case of this topic, "I don't like this game cause there's lots of stuff in it" doesn't really convey much information, or lead anywhere. It's an issue of pure preference, which is the least interesting class of opinions. And this user has made several such topics in recent days.
But, perhaps you think "I like Skittles" is a worthwhile and interesting topic to discuss. If so, I hope we are never stuck together in a long car ride.

You're right, I meant you were being a hypocrite.
Do you even know what you're saying? You're saying this guys opinion is not needed because you didn't find it valuable. I said you can say that for every thread, and that's true because not everyone will find someone's opinion valuable. That's how opinions work. Are you really going to say that this man's opinion is not needed but the opinion of a book must be for everyone? No, that's ridiculous. The world does not work that way, the whole world is NEVER going to unanimously agree on something. You think if someone says Murder is wrong that everyone will agree with that? Nope, there will be people that will disagree. That's why you're being a hypocrite.
I like skittles is absolutely a subjective opinion. Do you even know what subjective means? It literally means one man's opinion and that man likes skittles, however, there are people who don't like skittles. It's a subjective opinion.
