You can't just throw in the towel after a game your team was going to lose anyway. NFC East teams tend to play terrible in Washington, so the Giants might lose this week and Dallas would still only be two games behind the division leader. Like I said before, a sweep will take care of the Redskins while the Giants could end up at 8-8 and either 2-4 or 3-3 in the division. 8-8 is enough for the Cowboys if they are 4-2 in the division.

Of course, Dallas will lose in Green Bay, so be prepared to cry in your pillow for the rest of the season.
