| Teeqoz said: I don't quite buy this "only 5% of explanation", because Sony has given us sold through numbers before (last time being from early march, when they gave us the 20.2 million sold through figure). Any margin of error should be calculated from the last official numbers, so this error is more like 13% (assuming a 1.3 million undertrack), not 5%. Now you may say that 13% is honestly a respectable margin, and I'd be inclined to believe you if we hadn't gotten any other data, but when we get NPD leaks, Media Create numbers and of course shipment numbers each quarter, I'm certain that it would be possible without too much effort to reduce that margin of error down to an actual 5%, which would be really good. I mean, this undertrack shouldn't come as a surprise after the last shipment numbers we got. I agree with the rest you said though, and I massively appreciate what ioi and Machina does with the numbers, but again, like I said, I think this particular overtrack was a rather obvious one, and could have been avoided easily. |
Yeah I agree that this specific margin could have been reduced a lot with adjustments based on previous data.
However, with how the sales data itself was practically abandoned up until a Month ago, Im willing to give them the benefit of the doubt this time. Theres been a lot to catch up on.
