What made the great Nintendo games great?

Don't take this the wrong way but you're quite a rare breed indeed haha 

Many tend to think that the Wii days were dark times with the whole focus on waggle and whatnot. And while I did stray from them and look else where, I have to admit they made some pretty great games for the system. 

No offense taken, I am fully aware my opinions are often out of step with the "core" crowd. :)
