I don't think the two year difference makes that much an impact at all. Especially with me. I was a regular, stupid kid. (Obviously I'm eggadurating. I wasn't a slow kid, but I definitely wasn't the top of my class back then) I wasn't sitting there at age seven, deeply contemplating the deeper meanings behind the moon falling. I just knew that the moon was scary and everyone was scared in different ways. That's not a difficult thing to understand, and I'm 100% sure it would have been no different if I played it when I played OoT instead.
