I use this http://www.batteryjunction.com/ch10chsmchwi1.html for rechargeable batteries. It is a smart charger, so it will help prevent overcharging your batteries, which can destroy them. Also, it charges 10 at a time, so you always have enough fresh batteries for 4 controllers. (granted you then need ~20 batteries).
I have to go, so I can't type more, but I highly recommend it, as it has worked wonderful for me, and you can use the batteries in cameras, remotes, wireless sensor bars, and anything else for that matter.
