The multiplat audience (as I said before) jumped ship back to Sony. This is why Sony is enjoying good upfront sales, similarly to how Sony used to enjoy them last gen. Tomb Raider will sell well enough, but it was crazy for Crystal Dynamics to launch the game next to Fallout 4 which is going to wipe the holiday slate clean for November. Tomb Raider will have to rely on legs much like Halo. Microsoft will have all of those games available in bundles for Sony but Sony cant touch the fourth quarter exclusives Microsoft has (Well only one game and that exclusivity is for a year).

I don't think anyone argued in favor of sony having better exclusives for the holidays.  Thing is, if MS still want to win US, they have 2 months left to cut the gap significantly because october barely did something.  When I said this month is going to be interesting is because in addition to COD and battlefront bundle, there will be a 299 ps4 for BF which means sony will be more agressive than last year making it much harder for MS to make a comeback.

MS cant cut the gap, they just need to to win Novembers & Decembers NPD in America to gain ground because fourth quarter is the largest sales period in America in general. Microsoft doesnt have the brand power and in-house development level power that Sony has that helped the PS3 come back from an 8 million console differential last gen. Both consoles will have bundles at $399 (and on black friday even $300) but yes those multiplat bundles Sony is selling are compelling even though all of those games will be available to Microsoft by default. The opposite cannot be said of Sony for Microsofts bundles.
