I remember when Fallout was a relatively niche PC series before Fallout 3. Same with Elder Scrolls. Bethesda sure knows how to make IP's appealing to mass audiences.

Yeah, and some things are better left that way.

Ditto

OT: Good sales all around though, now it's only a matter of time before some "curirous" (that seems to be the scapegoat these days) folk decide to break things down to pit one against the other and who the supposed winrar is despite the game being fun and gamers having fun with it.

That's an interesting straw man you've constructed there. But I'm not quite sure what you are suggesting here. Are you suggesting some people are going to comment on which platform has the biggest sales and compare it to the platform that has the exclusive marketing deal, and analyse whether the exclusive marketing deal was a good investment? Depending on how one constructs the analysis it is actually a good topic for discussion, and indeed these sorts of deal would make for interesting academic studies for marketing students. Do exclusive marketing deals for multiplatform products work? Indeed it would be interesting to investigate whether any form of exclusivity, other than absolute and permanent exclusivity, vs the direct competition is beneficial. Personally I think in general there is small or no benefit, with a few exceptions.
