So would you call Halo 5 a WFPS?

If you wish, sure.

What matters is that's a FPS, if you wish to say were it comes from slap that W there.

W and J doesn't change genres, they tell you were it comes from.

WRPG and JRPG are defined as subgenres of RPG. The W and J tells you where the style is from not the game.

They can be used to describe a most common pattern of games by their cultural influences.

But a French game simply is not a Japanese game. As obvious as it sounds it's what you guys are trying to argue with.

RPG is a genre/style, it can be a Japanese-like RPG, but definitely not a Japanese RPG.
You can try to express how it feels comparing it to that cultural way of doing RPGs in Japan, but not say it's a Japanese game.

JRPG/WRPG are not subgenres. They are common expressions used by people to allure to a cultural style.

Cultural style is a genre. Styles are not restricted to location of origin.

Origin is also irrelevant in the discussion of a game's gameplay, unless you are concerned about the people who made the game rather than the game itself.

This isn't limited to just games, this is common in every media form.
