Gears 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2, Banjo 3 is only a glimpse of what we are seeing this year.
I am utterly confused. | Thats your problem right there. Your assuming they think...........

Why do people say it? Because Ninja Gaiden has NEVER been a system seller on ANY console, the 360 is not a "platforming" console, so Banjo will only sell to the select few that know about it, and Fable isn't a system seller (as it wasn't one for the original Xbox). The only one that will push consoles is Gears, and there's no way to spin that negatively. Saying that these average/above average games will boost the 360 is like saying Heavenly Sword, Folklore, R&C, EoJ, and Virtua Fighter were going to boost the PS3. Sure, they're decent games, and they will look good amongst those who already own the consoles, but do you really think anyone would shell out $350 for NG2? I know most didn't shell $400 for NG: Sigma. These are the types of games that make the library look good....they're supplementary to the "Big Guns", and not system movers themselves. Just like someone above said about Bioshock and Mass Effect. And you starcraft....you've got some nerve talking about "thinking" when 2/3 of the stuff you post is utter garbage, whether it be anti-Sony, or pro-M$.....utter garbage |
No i don't think anyone will shell out $350 dollers for NG2. But i do think people will shell out that money when they see NG2, Banjo 3, Fable 2, Gears 2 plus the already huge library of the 360 available at the moment. It's not going to be about 1 game for the 360, it's going to be about a range of very good ones. If those games don't appeal to the masses, then they will buy something else. |
That's kind of like what I said about Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, etc. They make the library look good, alongside big games that people buy the system for. I doubt anyone would buy a 360 if it ONLY had Halo on it. But when you toss in games like Forza, Mass Effect, Crackdown, etc. the system looks more attractive because it has a lot of decent, solid games, and when that occurs, that's when the "I'm gonna wait until game X comes out" people decide on a console, because that "game X" will be supplemented with a slew of solid games.
Edit: Which is why I get upset when people who used to say "The PS3 has no games" change it to "Those games aren't EXCELLENT, AAA games!" when referring to this past fall/Christmas lineup. They may have been 80+ games, but when you team that with the likes of GT5:P, MGS4, GTA4, etc., then the library looks really good
