Anime in the west no longer needs that flag bearer shounen title. We've got variety, now, right at everyone's fingertips thanks to the internet. I suppose there really isn't a typical Naruto/Bleach title out there, except maybe Fairy Tail, but is more of everything else available, which is fine with me. Seven Deadly Sins and Attack on Titan aren't exactly the same but I would consider them improvements. |
I feel you're absolutely on the money with Bleach and One Piece.
You're probably right about the flagbearing scenario and definitely zeroed in to what I was thinking about. Going foward we might not need something like this to push the medium, but I still really beleive it can. Maybe just not in the same way previous ones did
