Maybe Luke decided to raise him because he found him alone or something, and sensed the Force was strong in him.

Then we could expect in episode 9 the big reveal of having Luke telling Boyega: "You are adopted", giving a little nod to the big reveal of Luke being the son of Darth Vader.

Ren is in reference to Kylo being part of the Knights of Ren, whatever the hell that is. Ren is basically a title, I guess
