Sometimes I don't understand Nintendo. Sure they want their first-party games to be the shining beacon for their console, as they have been throughout Nintendo's history. But the Wii was a one-off, in the sense that they captured some kind of lightning in a bottle with that console, which they might not be able to do again.

Are they just actively reluctant to have big third-party games on their console? When the PS5 and X2 come out, they'll probably be more powerful than the NX, so once again no GTA/Elder Scrolls/Battlefield, etc, on the NX, at least not versions comparable to what the other two consoles will get. I'm not trying to hate on Nintendo, I love them and what they do. But surely their next console would sell better if customers knew that those kinds of games could be played alongside Mario/Pokemon etc.
