| RolStoppable said: Told ya. Seriously though, the Saints were rubbish in the first half, aside from their first drive, and the only thing that could stop the Falcons were fumbles. If it hadn't been for the blocked punt, it would have been 7-7 at halftime. Despite 7-14, it looked like it would only be a matter of time until the Falcons take control. But then in the second half the Saints were a wholly different team. The offense marched down the field time and time again while the defense stopped the Falcons fast. Luck in the first half, but skill in the second. The Saints earned that win. Next week they'll probably be complete crap again. Or maybe not. They are one of the unpredictable teams because they have such a huge swing in performance. |
Even without the blocked punt the Saints were driving somewhat steadily, they legitimately earned all their turnovers, and they were one dropped pass away from reaching the Falcons' 15 with about two minutes left. They were in control from start to finish this game - somehow - so I'll give credit where it's due.
That said, even the worst team gets a win once in a while, unless they're being "led" by Matthew Stafford. I, too, don't expect this to happen again for a while. Unless it does. Because screw this season.
