When you have success you get praised for it, and Nintendo got plenty of praise for the Wii. 

And likewise when you screw up, you're going to get a lot of blame. Nintendo's board of directors like I said are lucky they're on a Japanese company. If that was an American company they would all be fired by now outside of Miyamoto. 

Also, it's very interesting that most people in the finantial world focused on the Wii instead of the DS. Didn't that system do as much money (or more) as the Wii?

I think Wii was more of a media sensation for a few years there, it was THE it thing to buy. You couldn't find one in stores for like a year and a half. DS was a more steady seller and a slow starter in the West.
