I really don't think thats a bad thing. Since pretty much all Nintendo games have a cartoonish artstyle, they don't need a lot of power to look good. Just look at Mario Kart 8 or Super Smash Bros, since their games don't have realistics visuals, they don't require very much power to run. Having a less powerful console would be better because it saves money

Nintendo loses more 3rd Party support by constantly having the weaker console. Of course it wouldn't cause 3rd Party to come running to them either. However, it could build the foundation for better 3rd Party support in the future. They won't need to save money if they're making tons of $$$ off a successful (at least moderately) powerful console. Plus I don't think the cartoonish artstyle is a good enough excuse not to have an at least comparable system to its competition.
