And 100% of smartphone users would not own their smartphones if they didn't make phone calls. 99% of smartphone use is communitation through calls, texts, IMs, or emails. The telephone function is absolutely not "just another app." It's the primary reason they buy the phones. Everything else will always be secondary or tertiary.

Well, not exactly, the metric of smartphone use to make phone calls is not even near 20% percent let alone 99%, however, you are right in that it its the primary purpose to own and or buy a phone
